1.  a little lunch and munch and some hobbit reading with the bump.

2. oh this man.  THIS man.  makin me feel like the luckiest girl in the world…all day…urrday.

3.  brett and i have this joke that we are secretly an old elderly married couple.  our friday night consisted of us at a coffee shop eating sandwiches (listening to the vocal stylings of the lovely faith shaw) and playing an intense game of scrabble.  we were at the coffee shop for a few hours and we were home and IN bed by 830pm.  it. was. awesome.  on our way home we kept talking about how much fun we had and how we should do this more often.  fogies.

4.  done did it.  went ahead and just cut the hair.  to some this may seem drastic.  but to me…its called going back to normal.  im a short haired girl.  i have this love hate relationship with long hair…i want it so badly, but when it starts getting long i feel weird and immediately wanna cut it off again.  post pregnancy there is talk of a pixie cut.  im VERY excited about this.

This weekend was jam packed!  We got  to celebrate with some of my dearest friends at a shower for baby jeter and got to meet one of my best friends new baby boy Jadson!  Brett held his first new baby (which was very exciting!).  He didnt hold our niece until she was a good solid 5 or 6 months.  new borns freak him out…haha.  then we got to have dinner with one of our favorite couples that we NEVER get to see.  All in all it was good…but still…too short.

Back to work.

Ever since I made those yarn poms for Penny’s room, I’ve kind of been a bit obsessed with them.  I’ve been using them as bows when I wrap gifts and the other night I made a little bouquet of some for our dining room table.  They’re actually pretty fun!  I may make another little bouquet for our patio.

I really love flowers but they don’t last very long and in the mean time between floral deaths its nice to have something colorful in a vase.

This whole nesting thing I think is getting a bit out of hand.  I have a list about a mile long of projects I’d love to achieve by the time Penny gets here.  We’ve got about 3 months now, so I’m hoping most of them will be completed by then.  I may not have the time, energy, or mental stability after she moves into our home to do much after : )

The Mr. and I have some fun things to attend to this weekend, so I’m super pumped that its Friday!

Happy weekend friends!

Casual Friday Edition.

I joked with Brett the other day that I never thought id enjoy having pants that go all the way up to my boobs before.  You know what im talkin about.  That giant stretch of lycra that holds your belly in a warm hug all day long.  One thing you dont have to worry about in maternity pants is  revealing your rear when you bend down to pick things up.  Although…the further along i get, the less bending im able to do and the less graceful i become.

T-Shirt – American Apparal

Jeans – Motherhood

Sandals – Forever21

Scarf – Gift from my dear friend, but you can find similar ones at Target right now

  • say it with me now…weight. gain.  oof…tothemax.
  • one of my co workers asked me how i was the other day and i manged to say “im doing well thanks” before silently crying at my desk for a few minutes. (hormones.)
  • went for a walk up our street (maybe about a half mile) with my husband and our neighbors/best friends (who should expect there baby at any moment), woke up this morning super sore.
  • nearly wrastled a co worker over the delivery of a box that was extremely light.  my fight to be able to carry things in the office remains a large one.
  • my husband is now the put-er on-er and take-r off-er of my shoes (good man.)
  • wheres my purse has now become a daily game that the mister and i play.   my ability to remember the things ive done right after i have done them is non existent.  phone.  keys. hair tie. mind.  they are all lost.  all the time.

let the good times keep on rollin’.

Good morning little one!

I just got back from the doctors office and you are growing right on track.  Your heart beat is super strong and you are awesome!

I had another dream about you. In each of the dreams ive had about you (there have been two) the main theme is that you have huge blue eyes just like me and your dad and you are possibly the smiley-est baby i have ever seen.  I was holding you in my arms and i said “well hello there little one!” and your face just lit up.  I’m pretty sure this means you are gonna be a happy little baby with some righteous baby blues! : )

i seriously can not wait to meet you and I cant believe that we’re already at 25 weeks! and the next time we see the doctor we’ll be at 30 weeks…whoa. crazy.

we love you so much penny!

XOXO,

M

1.  I received this super amazing print from an incredibly creative friend of mine named Katie Hall (which coincidentally was my old name before a became a Lemster).  This girl is so talented and you should all go buy her art!  She doesn’t have a website but you can follow her on instagram @tidalelephant…check it out!

2.  Because this baby makes me go to bed at 9pm every night and I’m incapable of sleeping more than 8 hours I’ve been waking up insanely early on the weekends.  Saturday and Sunday I was up at 630am.  Sunday I woke up and opened all the windows and doors and let the cool morning air creep in while I made a little breakfast for me and the mr.  I gave him his in bed and started to go out on the patio to enjoy mine when his sleepy little bear face emerged and he decided to join me.  I love these quiet cool mornings on our patio with each other.  We both agreed that it felt like we were by the beach.  Which to us, who are big beach loving people, its a nice way to start the day.  If we could just have the ocean we’d be set.

3.  This is how we roll.  After a busy weekend of going from thing to thing we like to just kinda hibernate in our room.  Usually with a large pizza, a movie, and some snuggles.

It was a good weekend.  Especially lately ive been blessed with these little pockets of time where i can feel how content i am with where we are.  Like you step out of your life for a second and get to look at it with a fond little smile.  I’m appreciating these quiet slow moments before baby gets here.  Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

We FINALLY got our giant print for our kitchen!

One of my good friends recommended this company, where you can upload photos and order posters of pretty much any size and have them delivered!  I am SUPER satisfied with the outcome.  The quality is awesome, and its the perfect addition to our little coffee nook.

My dear friend Kim Bogardus is a pretty spectacular photographer.  She had taken some photos of Brett and I for Christmas last year and we both are so in love with the way they  turned out.  This print was one of our favorites and its fun to turn it into a giant piece of art for our home.

A while back I saw a post on A beautiful mess about industrial sized prints and since then ive been on the hunt for a way to print a color photo that didn’t break the bank.  I also really loved the triangle accents and what they added to it.  It’s a super fun and clever way to add some color especially when you are renting like us.

I really love the way it turned out and I may order some more of these bad boys for other parts of our home.  Maybe not quite this large and in charge but some bigger ones of our wedding may be nice, and of course some family photos when Penny makes her way into the world : ).

i know i know…selfies (is that what kids are calling it?) in a bathroom mirror, but one does not always have time to do an adorable photo shoot with an awesome back drop and an available husband to snap photos to my liking.

dressing my pregnant belly has proven to be a bit difficult for me.  I’ve always had a small waist and have had my whole life to learn how to accentuate the mess outta that and hide my big bum and hips…now…i have no waist, so its getting tricky.  i would never wear a form fitted dress pre pregnancy (Ive always been a bit self conscious of those curves of mine).  my initial response is to wear something over-sized and baggy, but im realizing that leads to a whole lotta frump.  i am in no way a fashion blogger…although i love fashion, fashion blogs, and all things clothes.  I’m a regular lady, with a regular budget, who has a regular style.  So to all my regular peeps who are rockin a belly, hopefully I’ll tip you off to something that will help with the struggle of dressing that bump.  and if you have tips let me know!  we’re in this together!

side note:  these sandals are awesome with the whole swelling thing.  i usually wear ballet flats to work all the time, but my feet were in need of some space in a desperate way.  they are super comfy and still cute…i highly recommend them.

Button up:  Forever 21

Striped Dress:  H&M Maternity

Belt/Shoes/Ring:  Forever 21

  • going to knock on my neighbors door.  never actually leaving my apartment and knocking on our own door from the inside.  waiting for at least a minute before i realize what ive done.
  • fitting into my old pants with the help of a rubber band at 8am…feeling like im going to die at 9am, but stuck in my ultra tight pants until im off work at 5pm (i have since given up on this approach)
  • taking every pre prego item of clothing i have that is too small, and packing it up in boxes and put in our storage so i don’t keep trying to wear it and having a half hour long melt down about how i cant fit in anything.
  • putting on my sandals that need to be buckled around my ankle.  the days when this was an easy task have left me at this point.  while on this topic, lets thrown in cuffing my jeans.
  • waiting for my carpool buddy to give me a ride home i decided to pop myself up on a ledge.  nearly flung myself face first into the ground.  apparently bending at the waist is no longer a strength of mine.

oh the joys and adventures of a pregnant lady.

Hello Little One,

You are just a wiggly little monster.  You move so much that my belly dances around all the time.  Sometimes i know its your bum, which is super bizarre.  The other day you kicked your dad in the face, which made us laugh for a good solid 10 minutes…im sure you felt that.  These days you really enjoy eating whatever is in front of you.  There are some things that your mom and dad loved, that you want no part in at all.  You hate the idea of taco bell or del taco, which is pretty strange to us but a good baked potato and grilled chicken you are all about (which is pretty much what i lived off of before we had to share food with you).

I’ve started crocheting you a little baby blanket (which actually might be quite large, due to the fact i have never made a baby item).  It’s nice to sit and take time to make something for you.  Sometimes when im working my way through it I pray for you and think about what kind of lady you will be.  As weird as it may sound, its been really comforting making it.  I hope its comforting to you to be snuggled up in it : ).  You are so very loved little one.  Your dad and I will most likely get a lot of stuff wrong with you because well…we’re new at this whole thing.  But one thing we promise to always make known to you is that you are loved and so special to us.

We get to see you next week which is always exciting!  We love getting updates on how much your growing : )…although…we can tell from the outside these days that you are not the size of a sweet pea anymore : ).

XOXO,

M
